FEWACCI Meeting on Regional Sealink in Banjul
Presidents from ECOWAS Chambers of Commerce converged at Kerr Jula on May 10th. The main objective was to discuss the Sealink Coastal shipping Company, a Public Private Partnership (PPP), established for the purpose of promot-ing the development of a regional sea-link company that would be private sector driven. The role of the Sealink Promo-tional Company Ltd (SPCL) is essentially to raise funding of US$1.5 million from donors, development partners and pri-vate sector stakeholders for the promotional activities of the proposed regional sealink pro-ject.
Investors are welcome to contact the GCCI for shares.
The funds to be raised would be utilised to cover all the costs relating to the initial activities of the Company Ltd under the following scope of work, among others:
 Setup and operate modest efficient offices in the country of incorporation or other location as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors;
 Select a management team capable of directing and achieving the goals of the SPCL
 Identify the Technical Partner for the proposed Regional Maritime Shipping Company (RMSC)
 Incorporate RMSC and attract investors and funding

GCCI/ILO Forum
The Gambia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Employers Association (GCCI) on Wednesday 4th May 2016 convened an Employers’ Forum at the GCCI com-plex. The forum was attended by various employers in the private sector as well as the GCCI Employers’ Association Committee members and ILO representatives from Dakar and Abuja respectively.
The main aim of the forum was to create awareness on the role and responsibilities employers as well as to launch both the Employers’ Guide on the Labour Laws of The Gambia and the Taxation Guide for Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Gambia
